Hong Kong 6 is the sixth and final level of the Hong Kong track, featuring the upgraded sports car. Set in the same direction as Hong Kong 2 and 3, the race takes place in a treacherous rainy setting on a track that resembles Hong Kong 5. The starting positions have undergone another rearrangement, notably placing Roberts as the frontrunner.

This race is also available in the Split-Screen mode where it is referred to as Hong Kong B.

Starting Positions[]

1 Roberts 2 Xu 3 Lumiere 4 Ivanov
5 Baptiste 6 Ahmed 7 Rossi 8 Morgen

Race[]

In Hong Kong 6, competitors embark on a three-lap race in the reverse direction of Hong Kong 5, featuring the expansive ramp and 1.3-mile sandy stretch. A new obstacle introduces itself after the sandy portion, as constricting barriers transform the road into an S-shaped configuration just before the tunnel. The difficulty of Hong Kong 6 is heightened by the rain-soaked conditions, adding slipperiness to the highway roads. Most AI opponents are unfazed by the rain, displaying cleaner driving and fewer errors during the race. While pileups are common at the race's commencement, triggered by opponents attempting to overtake the slow-accelerating AI Lumiere, the field tends to spread out as the race progresses, resulting in fewer dramatic moments.

Although AI Roberts begins the race in 1st, his slow acceleration enables Xu to swiftly overtake him within the first three seconds. Xu usually maintains his lead position throughout the race, making him the prime contender. Alongside Roberts and 3rd placed opponent, usually Baptiste, the race leaders exhibit unparalleled speed in Lap 1, which gradually tapers off as the race unfolds. By the time Lap 3 unfolds, the race leaders will have slowed to a sluggish pace, creating an opportunity for easy catch-up. Their deceleration also allows AI Morgen and Rossi to make substantial gains, although their slower speeds during the initial laps, particularly Rossi's, prevent them from being consistent contenders.

Aiming for an average lap time of 1:20 is advisable, considering that the race leader takes around four minutes to complete all three laps. It's worth noting the difficulty of Hong Kong 6 can vary significantly depending on the player's chosen team. Notably, if the player has chosen Morgen, the level becomes unforgivingly difficult, due to Morgen's car exhibiting unfavorable characteristics under the rainy conditions, including poor handling and unpredictable flips upon hitting walls. However, such characteristics do not hinder AI Morgen from emerging as a moderately strong contender when functioning as an opponent.

AI Speed Table[]

Below are the AI speeds in the Grand Tour Racing '98 version; speeds may differ in Total Drivin or other versions.
