Egypt 4 is the fourth level of the Egypt track, introducing the Dakar. It is raced under clear weather conditions on a track that mirrors Egypt 2, following the same direction.
The starting positions have been rearranged in the Easter Island order, with Baptiste assuming the role of frontrunner.
Starting Positions[]
1 | Baptiste | 2 | Ahmed | 3 | Roberts | 4 | Lumiere |
5 | Ivanov | 6 | Xu | 7 | Rossi | 8 | Morgen |
Race[]
In Egypt 4, competitors navigate a three-lap race on the Dakar, a faster and more agile alternative to buggies. As the race begins, a collision occurs between two AI opponents. The specific cars involved in the collision depend on the team chosen by the player, but the 4th starting team, either Lumiere or Ivanov, is always involved. The collision does not occur in the Total Drivin version due to the dispersed starting positions.
While this track closely resembles Egypt 2, there's a noteworthy alteration: the absence of side barriers leading to the double U-turns. This allows the player to simply descend two hills instead of taking the U-turns. The AI opponents continue to utilize the U-turns, providing the player with a substantial shortcut that shaves off nearly a mile of the track.
During Lap 1, the AI frontrunners exhibit exceptional speed, causing the player to fall behind even after taking the shortcut. However, their speed considerably decreases in the subsequent two laps, creating an opportunity for AI Morgen to assume the lead. These slowdowns, combined with the shortcut, transform Egypt 4 into a race that can be won with ease.
AI Speed Table[]
Below are the AI speeds in the Grand Tour Racing '98 version; speeds may differ in Total Drivin or other versions. The table represents the AI's straight-line speeds and does not account for individualized behaviors or specific car mechanics, such as driving accuracy, turning speed, and acceleration.
